Silent Hill: The Escape Review

With the close release of Metal Gear Solid Touch, I decided to dive into some Konami games for the iPhone/iPod Touch. My game of choice was Silent Hill: The Escape. If you didn’t know, Silent Hill is a survival horror game in which the goal is to escape from an evil hospital. Silent Hill

To move forward in the game you need to find a key and open a locked door. Every level consists of maze-like hallways infested with faceless nurses, deadly wheelchairs, and creepy-roof-climbing creatures. The controls take a bit of getting used to but after the first two stages, you get the hang of them.

The reloading mechanic in Silent Hill is by far my favorite feature. It requires you to use the accelerometer to position the bullets in the cylinder. It may seem easy, but if you run out of bullets in front of a faceless nurse who’s trying to kill you, it gets a bit tough.

Overall Silent Hill: The Escape was an “okay” game. It has great graphics, great sounds, but lacks in replayability and variety. If you’re a fan of the series, you may want to give this game a try. With a $7.99 price tag, I don’t recommend this game if you’re not a fan of the genera or the series itself.

I DO recommend you play this game in the dark and with complete quiet to get the full experience.
